Clean Conscience is a small company run by a dedicated, environmentally responsible team. My name is Tracey Duggan and along with Andrew Skelly, Cathy Craw, and Maria Gerathy we aim to provide a true green cleaning product that is safe for families and the environment. We realise the need for educating people in green cleaning. We believe it is the way of the future for the sake of our planet and the next generation.
Andrew and I are career fire fighters and have close to 40 years experience between us. Over this time we have attended many hazardous chemical incidents and have experienced first hand the devastating effect hazardous and toxic chemicals can have on the environment. Some of these incidents involved bulk cleaning products. First response is to evacuate the area, put on a fully encapsulated gas suit and try to prevent any run off from entering the waterways. Quite ironic since that is where it all ends up anyway!!
After making the decision to live a more sustainable lifestyle, I decided to switch to cleaning products that were better for my health and the environment.
This was not an easy task and I had trouble understanding some of the listed ingredients of these products (at least they had the decency to list their ingredients).
After researching some of these ingredients I was not satisfied that I was using products that stood up to my standards of what a natural product should contain.
I began to feel frustrated and together with my good friend Cathy we started researching and testing raw natural materials that we truly believed to be great natural cleaning agents. Cathy Craw has travelled all over the world with her husband and 2 beautiful children. She has a background in child nutrition and psychology and holds a Masters degree in Health Nutrition and exercise science from North Dakota State University. Cathy has a lot of experience in dealing with allergies in children as her daughter Emily has suffered food and chemical allergies since she was born. She has done extensive research on allergies and eczema in children and her knowledge and expertise in this area has been an outstanding asset to the Clean Conscience team. Her children Emily and Ethan have been enthusiastic and willing test bunnies for our product!! Cathy along with myself has a great love for all animals and we incorporate this passion into our business by making moral and ethical decisions when it comes to all Ingredients we source.
Maria Gerathy runs a small home business with her husband Richard. A very busy mum of three beautiful kids, Maria is passionate about the environment and lives by the mantra Reduce, Re-use, Recycle. Maria sets high environmental standards for her home and has been a great tester for Clean Conscience products since its inception. She has sent us back to the drawing board several times, but at the end of the day if it passed Maria’s critiques then we new we had a great product.
